The handle was meant to come off. In the close-up photographs of the 6.5 cm diameter by 10 cm tall handle is made from the finest of Ottoman Gold Niello inlay. The majority is yellow gold, but there are green gold accents throughout. Around the bottom of the handle are three vignettes with word LA I LA HA I ALLAH. This exceptional Gold Inlaid handle is perfect. Below the handle is a brass collar. Underneath that is a 12.5 cm long iron section which once was covered with woven leather. This leather has been missing for many years, but the ends are still there. The hardwood shaft has a delicate hand carved design and at the bottom is an unusual long ferrule, with an 8.5 cm long iron sleeve, decorated with (Tiger) Niello Gold Inlay. Overall this antique 18th century Ottoman Cane is 92 cm long and except for the missing leather, it is in perfect condition without any repairs.
