GOLD-DAMASCENED AND ENAMELLED MOROCCAN AFRICAN SWORD NIMCHA
19th Century

The single-edged blades slightly curving upward, tapering and becoming double-edged toward the tip, one with double gutter, the other with slightly rounded ridge, the ox horn hilt of typical form, a ring with polychrome enamels above the guards, the gold damascened decoration with floral arabesques on the blades’s forte and interlocking motifs on the guards. Original scabbards with long silver fitting, covered with red velvet.
